Woman dies of injuries from Gaithersburg crash

A woman has died from injuries she sustained in a crash Sunday evening in Gaithersburg, police said.

The two-vehicle collision occurred at about 7:50 p.m. Sunday at the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Lakelands Drive, in the Kentlands area of Gaithersburg. A 1999 Black Lexus LS 400 traveling north on Great Seneca Highway attempted to turn left and collided with a 2003 Toyota Highlander traveling south, according to Montgomery County police.

Elizabeth Colvin Colton, 69, was a passenger in the Lexus and was pronounced dead at a hospital, police said. The Lexus' driver was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition early Monday morning. The driver and passenger of the Toyota were taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
