Prince George's County police believe that a would-be robber, who had his own gun used against him, was killed in a justifiable homicide.

On Sunday at about 12:35 a.m., officers arrived at the scene of a shooting on the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway in Prince George's County, where they found a wounded man.

That man, who detectives believe meant to rob two people sitting in a car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man is said to have approached the car and drawn a handgun, but then a person in the car fought with the would-be-robber for the gun. The would-be-robber was shot in the struggle and died from the wound.

Police are requesting any information related to the incident. To contact the Prince George's County Police Department call (301) 772-4925 or call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-8477.

The two people inside the vehicle are cooperating with investigators, according to a police statement, and no one has been charged.
