On Fox News Sunday this morning, Sen. John Barrasso, R-Wyo., chairman of the Republican Policy Committee, said he expects there will be no deal on the fiscal cliff because the White House has not been negotiating in good faith:

I think the president is eager to go over the cliff for political purposes. I think he sees  a political victory at the bottom of the cliff. He gets all of this additional tax revenue for new programs. He gets to cut the military, which Democrats have been calling for for years. And he gets to blame Republicans for it.

Barrasso cited a recent Wall Street Journal article describing the behind the scenes negotiations as proof. Sen. Kent Conrad, D-ND, also on the program, replied, “I don’t believe that at all” and called Barrassso’s comments the “same old blame game.”
