Bombastic New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie accepted a challenge to perform the latest Internet craze: Having a bucket of ice water poured over one’s head.

Christie, who was challenged by New Jersey Devils CEO Scott O’Neil, let his two youngest children, Patrick and Bridget, dump the bucket over his head.

The aim of the ice bucket challenge is to raise awareness for Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Once challenged, people can either pour ice water on themselves or donate $100 to an ALS charity.

Scott Brown, the former Republican senator from Massachusetts who is now seeking a Senate seat in New Hampshire, accepted the ice water challenge. President Obama chose to donate.

Christie challenged New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker, “Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to ice up or go home (and donate).
