"A downer week for the president. A new independent poll shows that 56 percent of the uninsured now have an unfavorable view of the Obamacare health care plan. Only 22 percent view it favorably. These numbers among the uninsured are substantially lower than a previous poll. A real problem for Obama. Any hope for the success of Obamacare rests on persuading the uninsured to enroll.
“On the positive side for the president, the Supreme Court has struck down Texas' ban on gay marriages and Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer, bowing to a hue and cry from business, major league sports and prominent Republicans, vetoed a bill that would have offered local businesses the freedom to not serve gays.
“We are all watching what Russia's Vladimir Putin will do next in Ukraine. It is sure to be not good and the president has run out of red lines. On balance, a tough (but not devastating) week for the president."
