Pollster John Zogby reports in our weekly White House report card that President Obama dropped a grade by rushing back to vacation to play golf after a statement on the ISIS beheading of an American journalist. “Very bad form,” said Zogby.

“Lots going on this week. Sending Attorney General Eric Holder to Ferguson, Mo., helped to defuse some tension in the community after many days of violence following the police shooting of unarmed African-American Michael Brown.

“Also here at home, jobless benefits applications went down again this week and the administration has won a huge victory against Bank of America, which benefits both consumers and taxpayers.”

“Overseas, the president is weighing several options -- except boots on the ground -- to deal with the growing and increasingly scary ISIS threat.

“Mr. Obama spoke strongly and compassionately following the ISIS beheading of American journalist James Foley, but 'rushing off' to play golf immediately afterward was simply bad form. Actually, very bad form.”

Grade -- C-

Down from last week’s B.
