Colonial Williamsburg hosts naturalization event

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (AP) — There are 100 new American citizens in Virginia following a naturalization ceremony at Colonial Williamsburg.

The freshly minted citizens took the oath of citizenship Thursday. They represent 44 different countries, including China, India, Germany, Haiti, Nigeria and the Philippines.

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli told the group that giving up their citizenship in other countries isn’t a small choice. He said their lives have changed forever.

Cuccinelli also congratulated the group for their hard work to become American citizens and encouraged them to get involved in their communities.
