I guess ABC News interview means that Attorney General Eric Holder more in touch with reality than he used to be, but still this doesn’t inspire confidence:
To put the best construction on this, I suppose you could say that there has been an increase in homegrown terror threats in the past two years and that’s what Holder is referring to. However, it’s also worth noting that homegrown terror threats are hardly a new phenomenon in since 9/11.
But two years ago, Eric Holder was not in government and was working at a law firm that was representing Guantanamo detainees. So when Holder says “You didn’t worry about this even two years ago,” maybe he’s got the wrong pronoun. Much of America was rightly concerned about homegrown Islamic terror two years ago, well before Eric Holder took over the Justice Department.
UPDATE: I see that Tom Maguire and I are on very much the same page this morning.
