For those of you who don’t sit around and listen to C-SPAN all day, the debate currently going on the House floor beats out any daytime soap for ridiculous plot points.
Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, D-Fla., has claimed that using the term “Obamacare” is a disparaging term to the President.
Wasserman-Schultz has specifically asked for members to stop using the term on the House floor, and asked the presiding chairman to enforce her request under a rule that forbids insulting the President. Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, who was presiding, declined to rule in her favor.
The President has used the term “Obamacare” in public speeches. From the transcript of the President’s speech at the White House health summit last February:

Sander Levin, D-Mich. refer to 26-year-olds as “children” while defending the Health Care bill’s “slacker mandate” provision, which allows young adults to remain on their parents’ insurance plan. So now you’re not an adult when you can be sent to war, vote, or legally drink, but when you have to get your own health insurance.
