Missing ex-Redskins cheerleader had boyfriend trouble

Despite reports of past violence between a missing former Washington Redskins cheerleader and her boyfriend, police say the boyfriend is not a suspect in her disappearance. But Las Vegas police are continuing to look for 31-year-old Debbie Flores-Narvaez, who became a Vegas showgirl and has been missing since Dec. 12, and treating the case as if foul play were involved. She was an ambassador for the Redskins’ cheerleaders in 2007 and 2008, and appeared at games and interacted with fans in the stands.

Media in Las Vegas reported this week that Flores-Narvaez had a violent confrontation with her boyfriend, Jason Omar Griffith, in October.

Griffith — the dancer’s boyfriend of one year — was arrested on a charge of domestic violence, and Flores-Narvaez told police she was pregnant with his son, according to police records, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The two apparently had an argument over her iPhone, and Griffith is accused of kicking Florez-Narvaez, pulling her hair and throwing her phone.

But a Las Vegas police spokeswoman said Tuesday that Griffith is not considered a person of interest as authorities continue probing Flores-Narvaez’s disappearance.

Florez-Narvaez grew up in Baltimore and moved to Nevada from the Washington area several years ago.

Her vehicle, which still had a Maryland license plate, was found abandoned in Las Vegas.

Police say she was last seen on Dec. 12. She was leaving her home to visit Griffith at about 7 p.m. Her roommate filed a missing-person report on Dec. 14.

Flores-Narvaez had recently become a burlesque dancer for the Luxor Casino’s “Fantasy” show. She had previously worked at other nightclubs on the Strip.

She is described as a Hispanic woman who is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 120 pounds.

Anyone with information about her disappearance is asked to call to call the Metropolitan Police Department’s missing-persons unit at 702-828-2907.
