Goodyear stock takes a dive following Trump’s boycott call over anti-MAGA, anti-police controversy

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company’s stock dipped on Wednesday following President Trump’s call to boycott the tire retailer over alleged discrimination toward his supporters and law enforcement.

The company’s stock dipped as much as 5.86% in the wake of the president’s tweet expressing outrage over a leaked photo of an employee training document. The photo showed the company has “zero tolerance” for workers openly supporting Trump and law enforcement but encouraged support for Black Lives Matter, according to Fox Business.

“Goodyear’s stock price is down over 4 percent so far today (the overall market is slightly up) following news that the company endorsed ‘Black Lives Matter’ and banned employee support for police,” Federalist co-founder Sean Davis tweeted. “The stock took a nose-dive after Trump called for a boycott.”

Goodyear’s stock was down 2% as of 3:45 p.m. EST on Wednesday afternoon.

“Don’t buy GOODYEAR TIRES – They announced a BAN ON MAGA HATS,” Trump tweeted Wednesday. “Get better tires for far less! (This is what the Radical Left Democrats do. Two can play the same game, and we have to start playing it now!).”

Many prominent conservative personalities online joined Trump’s call to boycott, including former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, author Dinesh D’Souza, and Tennessee Sen. Marsha Blackburn. White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany also defended the president during a press conference, arguing that supporting law enforcement is just as important of a message as Black Lives Matter.
