Biden flag flies in Tijuana camp as migrants wait to cross US-Mexico border, where they believe shelter awaits

A “Biden for President 2020” flag was seen flying in a tent encampment in Tijuana, Mexico, where hundreds of migrants are gathering until they can be processed and potentially released in the United States.

“It is every bit Biden’s migrant camp. They are flying the Biden flag. They are wearing the Biden T-shirts. There’s 500 to 1,000 individuals staying here that believe wholeheartedly that President Joe Biden wants them here and will help them get across,” Fox News’s Griff Jenkins said Monday during a visit to the encampment.

Jenkins spoke with some individuals staying at the camp, with one woman saying the migrants received the pro-Biden merchandise from a nongovernmental organization.

“They choose to wear the shirts every time the media shows up because they believe if President Biden sees them wearing the shirt, then he will feel compelled to do more to help them get across,” Jenkins said.

KAMALA HARRIS LAUGHS OFF QUESTION ABOUT VISITING BORDER, SPARKING TORRENT OF GOP CRITICISM

“Most of them believe that Joe Biden is setting up shelters for them on the U.S. side and that, any day now, they will be asked to go across and stay there rather than here, where it’s dangerous.”

The Biden flag comes after migrants were seen sporting T-shirts displaying the president’s name earlier this month in Tijuana.

“Biden, please let us in!” some of the shirts read, along with the president’s campaign logo. Migrants also stood next to each other and took a knee as part of a demonstration urging Biden to allow them to enter the country.

The new administration is currently facing an influx of migrants coming into the country, sparking a humanitarian crisis as shelters work to house thousands of people.

Local officials in states along the southern border have repeatedly slammed the White House for its immigration policies, demanding more transparency while also activating forces such as the National Guard to help with the surge.

White House officials, however, have said the influx of migrants is not a “crisis,” which the administration reiterated on Monday.

“Children presenting at our border, who are fleeing violence, who are fleeing prosecution, who are fleeing terrible situations, is not a crisis,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters.

Vice President Kamala Harris also sparked outrage among Republicans on Monday after she was asked by the press if she had any plans to visit the border.

“Not today,” she responded and then laughed.

Her laughing after the question was immediately condemned by Republican lawmakers, including House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

“While VP Harris laughs off a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions, Republicans are focused on securing the border and responding to the needs of our Border Patrol agents on the front lines,” McCarthy tweeted Monday.
