Rep. Max Miller to make ‘special announcement’ as scrutiny of candidacy grows

Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) said on Saturday he will make a “special announcement” Sunday morning as pressure mounts for him to announce whether or not he will remain in his House race after the incumbent lawmaker’s past came under renewed scrutiny last week.

Miller’s ex-wife Emily Moreno, the daughter of Sen. Bernie Moreno (D-OH), has alleged “multiple incidents of physical violence” during their marriage and divorce proceedings, according to police reports obtained by ABC News. Though the allegations against Miller have long been public, they resurfaced this week after Moreno filed a restraining order against her ex-husband and an Aug. 5 deadline to potentially replace Miller quickly approached.
