Fetterman says he would ‘never’ leave Democrats as Senate seems destined for close margins

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) pledged to remain in the Democratic Party after saying he would leave it if it officially adopts an anti-Israel platform.

Fetterman said in the middle of July that if “our party ever becomes, and just makes it official, the anti-Israel party, that’s when I would leave because that’s been a moral clarity for me.” But in an interview with the New York Times published Thursday, Fetterman said he would “never” leave his party, after being pressed over whether he might flee should it capture a narrow majority in the Senate in November’s elections.
