After doing a complete 180 following her stint in the Trump administration, Alyssa Farah Griffin returned as a fully fledged host of The View for the show’s 26th season premiere. The controversial political figure came out Tuesday guns blazing, calling former President Donald Trump a “semi-fascist.”
“Do I think Donald Trump is a semi-fascist?” she asked. “I think Donald Trump is,” said Griffin, who served as White House director of strategic communications under Trump.

“I think the vast majority of his supporters are not,” she clarified, adding that President Joe Biden shouldn’t broadly label the group as such. “I take a little bit of issue with him broadly applying the term ‘semi-fascist’ to Republicans.”
Farah Griffin told her co-hosts that she agreed with Biden’s heavily ridiculed speech in Philadelphia, which critics have called divisive. “I actually agreed with the substance of his speech about democracy,” she explained. “There is polling from NBC — 57% of Americans think the threat to democracy is one of the most important things the nation is facing.”

Fellow host Sunny Hostin challenged Farah Griffin, asking, “If you are saying that he is a fascist, what are they?” referring to Trump’s supporters.
Regarding the Philadelphia speech, Sara Haines claimed that the president was “smartly” playing to independents.
After playing a clip of Trump’s reaction to the criticized Biden speech, host Whoopi Goldberg said, “He called y’all out for the things you have done,” dismissing the former president’s complaints. She added that the Capitol riot of Jan. 6 was “a pooping on democracy.”
“This MAGA crowd is so sensitive,” host Joy Behar chimed in.
The ladies also discussed the recent FBI search and seizure at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence, pleading with people to stop calling it a “raid.” They further poked fun at the reaction of Trump and his supporters, recalling the uproar surrounding Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
