Promise kept: A defiant Trump to attend WHCA dinner redo after assassination attempt

President Donald Trump will cut a defiant figure when he returns to the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner almost three months after his first-ever appearance at the event was cut short because of an assassination attempt.

Before the sound of gunshots ricocheted around the Washington Hilton ahead of Trump’s address on April 25, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt previewed a “funny,” “entertaining” speech that would be “classic Donald J. Trump.”
