To save capitalism from Gen Z, Republicans must steal socialism

The recent rise of the Democratic Socialists of America is shocking to many, but its rise in popularity coincides with Generation Z’s turnout and involvement in politics. 

Gen Z was the backbone of the mayoral election of Zohran Mamdani in New York City, with nearly 75% of Gen Z voting for Mamdani, a DSA-backed candidate. This corresponds with victories of DSA-backed candidates in Democratic primaries across the country. The DSA’s rise is linked directly to the increasing popularity of socialist economics among 18- to 26-year-olds.
