I have kept quiet about this for far too long. I have worked in grassroots politics for decades — on local races, statewide races, presidential campaigns, and everything in between. I’ve watched hundreds of millions of dollars pour into elections, consultants come and go and campaigns rise and fall, while armies of conservative volunteers work themselves ragged trying to make up for what money and infrastructure should have provided.

After all these years, I have come to a fairly simple conclusion. Republicans don’t have a money problem. They have a ground-game problem, and they have spent years refusing to fix it, even after being offered the solution.
