Like much of what the NFL does anymore at the crossroads of public relations and cultural warfare, the nation’s preeminent sports league has once again taken the liberal, progressive (though I would argue they should truly be called regressive) side in its cultural warfare campaigns. A social media video of a male cheerleader for the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles received quite the reaction online. As an Eagles fan, this is nothing new since the Eagles’ first male cheerleader debuted in 2019. Nevertheless, the response was as one would expect: People don’t want this.

I have no doubt that male NFL cheerleaders are the warped brainchild of a liberal, Democratic, socialist ideologue who kneels at the altar of diversity, equity, and inclusion. To them, people like them, and of their ilk, having effeminate-looking men, frolic around on the sideline, swaying their hips like a woman while waving pom-poms, at a stadium on NFL gamedays is “inclusive.” In reality, it’s stupid, unnecessary, and unwanted. There was no demand for this. It is not something anyone was clamoring for. Nobody wants effeminate-looking men dancing around and waving pom-poms as NFL cheerleaders.
