At least five people are dead and five more have been injured after an Amazon cargo plane crashed and ran off the runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon.
“At approximately 1:58 p.m. this afternoon, a cargo plane crashed at Miami International Airport as it overran runway number 30,” Miami-Dade County Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz said at a press conference after the initial news broke. “It came to rest in a field adjacent to the airport. At this time, we can confirm that we have at least five deceased individuals, and we have multiple individuals that were transported to local hospitals with unknown injuries.”
