Nevada lawmakers are aiming to pass a bill that would boost oversight of Flock cameras as scrutiny of the automatic license plate readers intensifies. 

This week, lawmakers unanimously accepted a recommendation to request a bill be drafted next session during an interim judiciary meeting. The bill, which appears to have tentative bipartisan support, would require agencies that use automated license plate systems such as Flock’s ALPRs to adopt written policies, train authorized users on lawful use and data-protection requirements, and submit to independent audits to verify compliance.
